You’re surprised why exactly? Screaming about how evil this is borders the image of screaming children who get worked up over nothing. Let’s face it, high ranking government bureaucrats will do such things even when they’re not real government. So seen in Brussels when the EUSSR bureaucracy gave itself sweet raises while the economy and the Euro are still in the sewer. So done by the German government, too, and plenty of others.
That government employees fall under different healthcare “systems” and even health insurances than other people isn’t exactly new either. Been standard in Austria for decades. Tenured civil servants (yep, that status exists, I’m one for example) have their own health insurance.
How on earth did I seem surprised? The post noted that this state of affairs is the rule, not the exception.
Apart from that caveat, naturally I agree with everything else you said. No human system can be fair; better the one in which wealth determines available goods and services, rather than political connection. Capitalism tends to make people produce, socialism tends to make them take. Plus, the typical rich person is immensely more charitable than the usual statist.
Apologizes, I copy and pasted what I said there. Should have removed the surprise. But you get my point anyway.
