Oooh, a real, live, formal debate?  I thought those went out with spats and monocles.

Christianity:  “Good or Bad for Mankind.”?  The event flogger, The Objective Standard, claims “this intellectual confrontation is guaranteed to set a new standard on the subject”.   

The sad thing?  That bragging might very well be true.  Dinesh D’Souza is, by puny human standards, very smart indeed.  But while I don’t know Andrew Bernstein, his opponent, I had to snort at his description as an “objectivist/atheist”.  Well, which is it?

(Not that Dinesh’s “Christian conservative” is much better.  But that title is merely amorphous, whereas Bernstein’s is self-contradictory.  I can only laugh at someone who claims objectivity on subjects that are, by definition, beyond the formal proof of limited human intellect.)

You know what the W.O.R.M. would really enjoy?  Letting D’Souza and Bernstein put their pretty little heads together and determine what they do agree on…and then debating both of them simultaneously.  Puny humans, no matter how intellectually gifted, just can’t get outside the box of social habit and expectation. 

Hey, it’s not braggin’ if you can do it.  So next post, I’ll take both sides of this argument, proving the atheist’s case exactly as well as he does and the Christian’s even better…and in fewer words than they’ll spent on social niceties.

Hey, wouldn’t it be great if all the world’s theists and atheists came together in a spirit of harmony and cooperation to battle the inhuman intellect that is Your Spineless Host?  And lost?

That would be plush.  And would of course destroy the universe.
