Hey, haven’t forgotten you, my peeps. But man, what a work week. I’ve been doing endless surveys and writeups on everchanging jobs and conditions. Am spent, but have finally caught up on work!
(And of course, during that very rejoicing, people came in for help in setting up a HEPA-filtered oven/vacuum combo to dry out an irradiated sample of water-filled carbon nanotubes whose also-irradiated catalyst metals now include Cobalt-60.)
Maybe I’ll catch you guys over the weekend, then.
And I’ll be catching you next year. Cause I’m heading out to Japan tomorrow.
So, have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. All of you Worms, Xpats and the rest.
Have a great stay, Edo!
メリー クリスマス!
良いお年を!
I’m back. Far longer than I expected. I also was in Hong Kong. Oh my gods… 48 hours Hong Kong… Drunk as drunk can be. But hell, it’s was GOOD
All the best, edo! Loom over them all. LOOM!
I see your radiation stuff and raise you select * from radiation where name=’carbon nanotubes’ and result=’cobalt-60′
C’mon, I said “catalyst metals”, didn’t I? They weren’t the sample, they helped grow the sample. But they were an inseparable part of what got irradiated.
I agree that getting Co-60 by bombarding C-12 is…problematic.
Umm, I know squat about radiation, but I can write some basic SQL Scripts. (database stuff) Yeah, I work IT.
Either I came across as smarter than I actually am, or, more likely, you’ve a lot wider job experience than I would have expected.
This was pretty funny:
