My response to the election: multi-pronged apathy.

Noticed a slight uptick in views, realized that infrequent readers were probably wondering about my reaction to the latest episode of American Survivor:  Liberty Gets Voted Off The Island.  Well, my feelings about it are just like those for girls and foosball.

But my reaction has been:

1) Watch The Walking Dead on Netflix.

2) Inspired by 1), make plans for stockpiling survival gear against the coming societal collapse, knowing I’ll never get around to doing it.

3) Inspired by 2), play hour after hour after of Minecraft, stockpiling survival gear.

4) Writing this post, which makes me want to go home and play Minecraft.

So apparently I’m handling this much better than we could have expected!

I bought Guild Wars 2 the other day. I have bottles of good red wine at home, plus new cigars, so yeah, I’m set for the next few days.

I bought GW2 way back, but have done nothing other than create my character and load the start. A total waste of money. All of my usual teammates were extremely disappointed in it, after GW1.

But you remind me that I did replenish my red wine just last weekend. 90 liters of Bota shiraz.

If you get the idea to fire up GW2 one day, I’m on Northern Shiverpeaks. Rufus Spracklespank, asura necromancer extraordinaire. I’m in a guild but I’m not doing much right now.

Though, I admit, I’m not sure how long GW2 will manage to hold me. I’m slowly moving away from the whole MMO part (despite it being the current hype, it’s getting boring for me) and rather play single player games with good multi-player or co-op. Stuff like Saints Row 3, Space Marine, Mass Effect 3, Portal 2 (I highly recommend both parts), etc.

Japan Times really hates that evil nuclear thingy stuff. I’m looking at the numbers and all that comes to mind is “So what?” 1 out of 807 developed leukemia. Oh. My. God.

Best part: “After statistically excluding genetic and other factors that could cause leukemia, the study estimated that approximately 16 percent of all the leukemia cases confirmed during the 20-year followup study were attributable to radiation exposure from the Chernobyl disaster.”

    Estimated? That’s science right there!

100,000-odd men and 22 developed leukemia from radiation. Yeah, we’re all going to die under the nuclear death cloud. Totally.

    • wormme says:

If they’re smart enough to account for every single leukemia factor then they must already have the cure. That’s HARDCORE anti-nuke, withholding a cancer cure so that a small number of the deaths can be attributed to radiation.

Small doesn’t even begin to cut it. The chance for me falling out of my chair while typing this reply and breaking my neck is higher.

We’re talking 0.01988341090876226% here. Okay, 0.02% if we round it up. Oh. My. God. Yeah, we’re all going to die from this. Totally!
