Dadgum song stuck in my head, help!

OTOH, one of the lines is very apropos for current events

And go-cart Mozart was checkin’ out the weather chart to see if it was safe outside,

I’d heard that Manfred Mann version…

…for about a decade before learning who actually wrote the song.

    I’ve always been bad with mishearing lyrics. I used to think two lines of this song were “wrapped up like a douche into the running of the night.” And no, I couldn’t make any sense of that at all.
