She IS a good writer. But the fact remains: she’s never used that talent to explain how Obama fooled her in the first place.
Well, Pegs? It’s not that McCain would have been a good President. But he’d have been far less bad than Barack. Just as Hillary would have been less bad, just as John freakin’ Edwards would have been less bad…maybe. This was obvious even before Obama took the nomination.
So if you’re going to keep playing master analysist, Ms. Noonan, you need to also play the “I meant to do that” card. As in, “I supported Obama so that his awfulness would shock America back to its senses.” Or…if you don’t want to lie…how about turning your talent upon yourself and sharing how you were taken in? That would do more good than your current musings.
Regardless, nice lady, thank you for sharing that joke. Joe Biden, crashing the GOP’s convention:
“All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Tampa, and, therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words, ‘Ich bin ein Tampon.'”
That was a genuine LOL.
That falls under complete and utter “rofl”
Nice one!
And at the Democratic convention it could go: “All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Charlotte, and, therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words, ‘Ich bin ein Charlatan.’”
Very nice, I chuckled aloud! We’ll miss you around here during your absence.
Ole Xpat’s going to be offline for a couple of weeks. Tata, compadres!
While Peggy has written some good stuff, many of her columns are a bit disjointed — either internally or from reality. I suspect we’re conditioned to think of her as wise because she wrote so many wise speeches for Ronald Reagan, whereas had she been a speech-writer for Joe Biden we’d have a clearer idea of her capabilities.
Ouch. Your fairness is also your scalpel.
