Post-Independence Day.

As in, “we are a post-independent nation”.  Which is maybe why I’m reading less news since the Obamacare ruling, with even less inclination to blog about it.  Why bother?

Wish I could think of something cheerful.  Higgs-Boson particle, maybe?  I dunno…

…sorry.   Everything tastes of ashes.  I’m so mad at government that when I see good ol’ Bill:

all I can think is…Farenheit 451.  Which is probably why everything tastes of ashes.

A few things come to mind after seeing that clip.

What about a parody on it, where the Bill is the AHA (Affordable Healthcare Act?, or is that AHCA) Can you picture how big that dude would be? 2000+ pages, not able to fit through doors, can barely stand on its feet. Refusing to let anybody read between its lines until it becomes a law.

Second thought. Gee, doesn’t that song encourage kids to want laws? It’s a good thing, right? Everybody is happy in the end when Bill becomes Law. Got to wonder about the motive.

    Btw, I’m not a Bill. I’m a Billy.

That’s genius, Billy. A series of Schoolhouse Rock parodies. And yes, that is one of my least favorite SR songs because it advocates passing laws.

“I’m a fat bill, I’m a great big fat bill, and I’m squattin’ here on Capital Hill…”

Thanks, thanks to that video I’ve tried finding the Simpsons version “An amendment to be” for several hours, no dice.
