Seeing this article got me to humming “Glory, glory hallelujah…”. Started an entry about it, then thought to search past diggings in the wormhole.
Yep. Echo echo echo…
And as Instapundit noted, the point remains the same. The more childish “educators” get, the more students are held to ridiculous standards.
It is utter and complete perversity.
Just as perverse as people celebrating the shuttles being grounded now forever and NASA being turned into a tool for the bloodsuckers in DC.
If you watch NASA backwards, it’s about a space agency that has no spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on moon. Doesn’t that make you feel proud? The US is canning the shuttles, the Constellation and effectively the space program, while betting on “green energy”. The Chinese are building thorium reactors and are planning a space station.
Yeah. It’s probably the best example of U.S. decadence, isn’t it? But it doesn’t really affect me emotionally any more. My real-life space geekery died about the time we went to nothing more than shuttles.
Even a decade ago, I’d hoped that China would leap forward and we’d rediscover that lost Sputnik competitiveness. There’s no hope of that now.
