i.e., Roosevelt v. Obama…aka “New Deal” versus “Trained Seal”.  Or, in other words, “how the mighty have fallen”.

 If by that phrase “packing the Court” it is charged that I wish to place on the bench spineless puppets who would disregard the law and would decide specific cases as I wished them to be decided…

NOW:

“I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress,”

Both Presidents are shameless liars.  Of course FDR wanted yes men, that was the whole point.  But in addition to the bully pulpit he went straight for the judicial jugular.  Obama just sulks and whines.

FDR simply broke the Supreme Court’s will.  It’s perfectly obvious if you study the judicial timeline (look at the “before and after” for March 9^th, 1937).  And Roosevelt’s victory was America’s deathblow.  Seriously.  That is when the United States began to die, when its checks and balances were undone.  It was doomed when a symbiotic government turned parasite.

But give Roosevelt credit for being a man about it.  He took the Court straight on.  He couldn’t be certain the country would trade liberty for “security” even with Distaff-American voters to help (thanks, ladies).  FDR’s naked power grab might have blown up in his face and set militant socialism back a century.    

But it worked.  And now  a parasitic Ruling Class has dug in for four generations and claims absolute authority.  Not directly, of course.  But it could not articulate any limit to federal power when arguing before the Court.  As Justice Kennedy noted, Obamacare “changes the relationship between the individual and the government in a very fundamental way.”  Obama’s response?  Again:

“I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress,”

Obama is such a pathetic waste of the Y chromosome.  And with one exception, every phrase in that statement is a lie.  And the sole truth destroys Obama’s entire argument.

I’m confident—

No, he isn’t.  Thus the whining.

…unprecedented—

No, it isn’t.  Marbury v. Madison was followed by dozens or hundreds of other examples.   

…a strong majority—

No, it wasn’t.  Barely skirting a Senate filibuster and a House vote of 219-212 isn’t a “strong majority”, it’s “eking out a win”. 

…a democratically elected Congress—

Finally!  Yes, Congress is “democratically elected”.  This despite one party cheating as much as possible and opposing any attempt to clean up elections.  Obama is right, but does he care about democracy?  Of course not, he despises it.   He hates even pretending that you should control your lowly life.  You’re supposed to do as you’re told and abase yourself before your betters.

Proof?  Notice that Obama protests for the representative government of but ignores his 2010 “shellacking”?  Obamacare wouldn’t pass today’s Congress.  Since, pace Pelosi, “we know what’s in it”, shouldn’t we revote on that  2,700-page bill?   Shouldn’t a Democratic President care that 72% of the public dislikes Obamacare and 56% believe it is unconstitutional?    

How the mighty have fallen.  Today’s Ruling Class is simply a mass of fat, bloated ticks.  Though each of them is spoiled and stupid, venal and false…my loathing for FDR is infinitely greater than for these 21^st Century tyrants.
