Maintenance day madness. We’re super busy, and one tech is out for the rest of the year. He’s not sick; quite the opposite. He hit the “use it or lose it” stage of saved vacation time, and chose to use it. Jerk.
Still have a small mountain of surveys to write up now. So it’s doubtful there’ll be much more posting today. I’m just hoping to come up with a decent BSS (bedtime search string).

I’m finding that the search function of Google is degraded, or at least different from what it used to be. I can’t do exact word searches anymore, for instance–they just turn up sites with those words scattered about within it.
But for all I know, this may be another one of those brilliant “improvements” that helps people who know what it is but leaves me with ever decreased technological capacity.
I miss the days when image search on Google gave you 500,000 pages. Today it’s 20-odd and nothing beyond (if you switch back to “traditional” view.)
I hit the “use it or lose it” stage with my long range shooting and my singing voice. Whoops.
Everything I’ve ever learned about Google has made me glad I never cheated on Dogpile.
I have outsmarted Google. There is no information about me if you google me. All you get is scientists and lawyers in Germany who have the same name and I find that very amusing.
I have a lovely tidbit from our friends over at Natural News and really all over (and ONLY on) the crazy scare mongering sites but I thought the WORM and his minions might enjoy. Apparently the Spent Fuel Pool Building at Fukushima is about to collapse…now before anyone panics put on a pot of coffee and a smile and dive into the scary stuff here:

I was quite surprised though, this fascinating article was a tad hid on the site. What? You’d think timely news such as this should have made front page. Shows what I know.

Note how they don’t name their source. “an intelligence source connected with NaturalNews has just informed us” Oh yeah, all sneaky and secret.

Also note that I can’t find even a single Japanese media outlet that reports the same. It’s strange how a foreign service can get such information, while the locals, with actual people on the ground, can’t. Japan Times, nothing. Asahi Shinbun, nothing. Mainichi, nothing. NHK or any other broadcaster… nothing.
How strange. More “yellow peril” propaganda from yet another western group?

I agree I find it amusing to say the least.. I have to say it is fun to go mess around with all the Chicken Little’s in the comment section over there. See they’ll tell you that no news media outlets are reporting it because it’s a mass cover up. Oh if you dive in deep to
their world you’ll be shocked with how far fetched they think Fukushima is. That the Earthquake was man-made from a nuclear bomb under the sea set off by the Isreali’s to teach Japan a lesson for not heading their warning to help Iran enrich uranium a year earlier. And controlled mini-nukes inside each reactor cause the explosions at units 2 and 4, put in place by a private security force Tepco unknowingly that they were also Isreali and part of a bigger plot to teach Japan a lesson for helping Iran. Oh it gets really Soap Opera plot from their, quite interesting to read. Then there’s that whole HAARP theory that floats around, according to them we are SUPER DOOMED, but the good news is Mike Adams over at Natural News is going to save them all with his informational “news” stories, not to mention just click a link to the right and you can get your very own bottle of (insert name here) that will clean your body of what else, RADIATION!!!!
