Dentist 1, wormme 0

My 1 ½ hours in the dentist’s chair yesterday included an “under-numbing” event, which left me feeling as boneless as my namesake.  So last night I forget there was such a thing as the Internet, much less that I had a blog.

Plus I’ve got to work til six tonight to make up for leaving early yesterday to get those holes drilled in my head.  Whee!  Yet again, I’m glad for you guys blogging me through the rough patches.

With all due deference to Waterboy, this is the funniest Half in the Bag review so far, especially Part 2 (content warning: language):

    Guess you need some entertainment.

    Here it comes.

The one, and only, TotalBiscuit and Jesse Cox in Terraria.

It’s an ongoing series, updated irregularly. Jesse’s channel has plenty more. It’s far better than what runs on TV these days and it’s actually funny… if you like gaming humor.

Am I the only one here who finds Ron Paul looking better and better, as all the other GOP candidates look worse and worse?

Why not just support/vote for Ron Paul for Pres., whatever the consequences, and get as many fiscally responsible people in as possible for all other offices, national, state and local? Even if Ron Paul loses we got cumulative counterbalance and momentum going at all other levels?

    • Edohiguma says:

Ron Paul’s stance on Iran: if we’re nice to them, they’re nice to us.

As someone who stands with Israel, I can’t support him. Not that it matters, since I can’t vote in the States, and even if I could, I doubt I would. I would vote for purging the entire political aristocracy though.

      • Xpat says:

Well, I admit the isolationist strain of Ron Paul’s thought is the weakest link–although I don’t think he’s Iran friendly so much as Iran indifferent. On the other hand, without the US to growl at Iran, Israel might work out a tacit tactical alliance with Turkey and S. Arabia against Iran–they probably already are doing something like that already on some fronts. Who’s to say the elaborate codependent relationship with the US to contain everything hasn’t in the end made things worse? (Similar to the way the European dependence on the US for its protective umbrella against the Soviets ultimately created the helpless, pamper-pooping EU infant we see today.)

I’m speaking as one who bought a few too many neo-con arguments in the first half of the previous decade. I haven’t let go of all of them, but I’m sorely tried . . .

It’s a huge gamble to relinquish the US globo-cop role, I know, especially with regard to nuclear proliferation. But the US can’t keep on doing it virtually alone in perpetuity. Other countries have to start stepping up to the plate, and there’s no motivator like necessity.

        • Edohiguma says:

Iran indifferent is pro Iran in my book. The mullahs with the bomb is the worst thing that can happen to the world right now. On that topic, one is either against them or with them. There is no neutrality possible. No sane person can remain neutral on that topic.

Israel will not work out an alliance with Turkey or S-Arabia. Turkey will never side with Israel. Turkey is going down into the islamist dribble, has been for a while, thanks the Führer Erdogan and his “friends”. Kemal Ataturk is rotating in his grave. S-Arabia is only concerned, or better said, the king of S-Arabia is only worried about his comfy chair, which Iran may endanger. Heck, all the American “allies” in that area, except Israel, are only in on it because America protects the current leaders in those islamic hell holes, cause the alternatives would be a lot worse. That’s what it boils down to.

The very moment Iran would, let’s say, guarantee protection for the current leaders in all those countries, they would, at once, switch sides and join their mohammedan brothers in the fight aganist the “infidels” and the Jews.

The enemy is not Iran. The enemy is islam. That’s how it is, and that’s what people like Paul, but also Cain and many others (or even all of them) completely ignore, because… they don’t want to offend the mohammedans. They make a distinction between radical and moderate islam, which is absolutely ridiculous, as there is no such thing. There is only islam, and islam is absolutely fascist.

As for the EU… it’s not so much the US protection (look at Japan in comparison, the military is pretty strong), it’s more the post-Cold War nonsense. Look at it. The USSR and the Pact are gone, yet the number of commies seems to increase in our countries. Germany, for example, has reduced the number of tanks since the Cold War to a point that is absolutely crazy. The German military itself is in no fighting condition anymore, except the few units of professionals they have. There are regiments in Germany that have 12 anti-tank missiles to train with per year. Same in Austria and many other countries. We had to reduce the number of barracks and re-structure at least two times since the end of the Cold War. I think, right now, the only European country that can effectively defend itself is Switzerland. But apparently, and according to our so called leaders, who are, of course, all heavily leaning to the left wing these days, there is absolutely no threat for us. So we don’t need the “large” armies anymore, and can rather put the money into… supporting the birth-jihad against us.

Remember, Turkey’s Führer Erdogan said: what the Otomans failed to do with both sieges of Vienna, the Turks will now achieve with their fertile women.

And well, he also said: the minarets are our bayonets, the domes our helmets and the mosques our barracks.

We are at war and the enemy is islam, which Kemal Ataturk, reportedly, called islam “a rotten corpse that is poisoning our lives.”

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m passing it totally uneventfully but hope you all have a good one for me to experience vicariously!

Off to the dentist tomorrow as well, but not for me. Mom is getting some repairs to a tooth.
