News begins at home?

It’s not that I’m avoiding blogging.  I’m tired of news, even apart from not being able to read much at work anymore.  And you’ve done nothing to deserve posts like “still grinding levels in Disgaea 4” or, “man, I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon”.

Then I glanced at the comments of the last 24 hours, just now, and ideas started brewing.  If you guys are gonna keep up with current events and other boring IRL stuff, why should I?  I just need to keep up with you.

Which, of course, I’m not.  xpat is providing coverage of the latest Fukushima news, Linda’s proposing great ideas for the blog, mountainbear is…still mountainbearing.  All that stands between this place and a great blog is the nigh-limitless procrastination of a surly misanthrope.  Great.

Okay.  Tomorrow the Disgaea play is contingent on at least exploring how to enable other bloggers.  It’s probably a five minute job, right?  So…THE GOAL:  a shared blog by the time ‘Bama plays LSU.

That gives me twelve days, which is almost a twelve-day margin.  Might be possible.

There’s a simple solution to this, at least in the interim. Why not just throw up an open thread every morning? (I mean, not “throw up” in the sense of projectile vomitting, but in the sense of “set out” or “put in place.”)

Hey, good idea! Too bad I’m late seeing this.
