Woe is media.

It’s getting harder to blog effectively because it’s not dynamiting fish in a barrel anymore.  It’s nuking gerbils in a paper bag, or some even more outlandish destruction/wimpy animal/container.  Public discourse is getting too stupid for me to deal.  It’s like soaking in essence of poison ivy.

For example, here’s the Prez interacting with media:

At one point Obama even told his media questioners to accept a “little homework assignment” and “go ask Republicans what their jobs plan is.”

Ha ha!  Condescension being the one area where Obama exceeds expectations.  Naturally fierce, independent journalists don’t take that sitting down.  Not when they can do it flat on their helpless backs, like little progressive turtles.  As the AP reports, no questions asked:

He has presented a $447 billion plan to jolt the economy by cutting taxes and increasing spending–

STOP!  Some “journalist” had to type out that statement.  And nothing about it raised an eyebrow.  Let’s translate that economic statement into its physical equivalent.  Here ya go.

Since you were too pitiful to reject Obama’s “homework”, AP, I’ll let you crib the correct answer.  Every Republican job plan is a more-or-less watered plan to flatten the tax code, eliminate crony capitalism, and gut as much federal regulation as possible.

This plan’s chance of success at improving the economy is exactly 100%.  In its pure form, it has exactly a 100% chance of vastly improving the economy.

And Obama’s plan has exactly the same chance as any other closed-system perpetual motion machine.

You’re being unfair to perpetual motion. There may be a universe where it works.

Very good point. It might be possible to contrive a self-consistent universe with that quality. Whereas socialism/human nature in this one are fundamentally contradictory.

Indeed, everywhere I turn there is more stupid. Not enough time/energy to bother pointing it out when playoff baseball is on. Go Cards go!
