Jet-lagged, in a sense.

Sorry for the lack of new material, that swing from nightshift to dayshift within 24 hours really messed me up.  Meanwhile you guys have had some very interesting comments up, especially about the immigration thing.

I believe we absolutely must deport predatory people who are here illegally.  If someone gets arrested for rape and he’s an illegal, the only reason for him staying would be because we want him to do hard time.

And I agree that mass deportation is extremely unlikely.  But I also hope a significant number of Americans keep demanding it.   Guarding our borders is very serious business, and the federal government continues to make it a mockery.  Those folks need constant reminding of how in the wrong they are.

I worked shifts while young and strong, and it still about killed me. There was a group of us at work that absolutely could not sleep during the day. We’d all meet at a sports club in South San Francisco and try to racketball ourselves to sleep. Then I’d go home, wash the car, grocery shop, go bike riding, then lie down and stare at the ceiling. Brutal. I’m getting revenge these days. No weekends unless the company is going up in flames, as little business travel as possible, delegate, delegate, delegate. Buck up. You’re going through an existential phase. It will pass.
