Science-geek advice to Republican debaters.

Sorry for the short notice, elephants.  Maybe next debate?  Because this is the perfect moment to drive the AGW (Anthropomorphic Global Warming) crowd insane.

Er…insaner.  Short version:

MODERATOR:  “Gov. Perry, aren’t you on record as being skeptical of climate change?”

RICK PERRY:  “Obviously, the climate has always changed.  That’s why I’m skeptical of human beings as the cause.  The ‘cosmic ray/cloud formation’ theory accounts for observed temperature changes better than the ‘man-made CO2’ theory does.”

Result…EPIC WIN!

Obviously candidates should tailor this argument to their own personas.  Go ahead, pardner, country-fry all a’them two-dollar words.  Seeing as how ah don’t know the political bidness better’n you n’ yer posse.

But science is my bidness.  And bidness is booming.

We must have at least a rhetorical dismemberment of Jon Huntsman.   Given his smug ignorance, a literal one would also be welcome.  (Though his tax proposal isn’t bad; shake him down for that and his lunch money then give him the boot.)

Seriously, GOPers, this is can’t-lose.  If climate change and AGW are brought up this new development must be presented.  This is real, live, recent, hard science and it’s your job to politicize the hell out of it.

Yes, it’s sad.  But it’s where we are.  They’ve politicized pseudo-science for generations, so now you pick up this piece of real science and beat them bloody with it.  Argue for spending millions more cosmic ray/cloud research while cutting billions from AGW spending and repealing strangling regulations “until the science is settled”.

P.S.–You don’t have to brand the opposition as theocrats of Gaia…but that sure would be funny.

I’m willing to bet a month’s salary that none of them will do this.

This is where they’re simply lacking eloquence and quick reaction abilities. Sadly. I’m actually convinced that none of them has ever even heard of the ‘cosmic ray/cloud formation’ theory. I’m also pretty sure they all believe the CO2 has really doubled in the past 50 years (which one look into the actual data proves wrong.)

But right now “climate change” made by mankind sells. And those bastards are… well… politicians, so they don’t care.

Belated reply–reading that Perry didn’t fare too well in addressing questions about his global warming stance. Pitiful. Obviously science geekery and political connections are repulsive forces.
