Seriously, the kid’s a slugger. If you’re his elder, hell…get his back.
I know America won’t die before I do, or M.R. does…or you do.
(Not sure about mountainbear…but the IDEA of liberty won’t die before he does. And xpat would plant the flag of freedom in Asia, I’m sure.)
We have atheists and agnostics here, who (I pray) know they are welcome. And I hope everyone knows my personal policy, which is…ahem….
…FREEDOM FOR ALL HUMAN BEINGS!
Marco will go down in history as a consequential person, and we probably won’t.
I don’t care. Do you? No shame in that, we’re creatures.
But my gosh, Marco speaks plainly. Listen to him, if you don’t know what’s at stake.
Yes, those mighty Chinese hegemons with all their new military hardware must quake in their boots before the imposing figure of xpat . . .
I confess I tend to like atheists–excluding the snarling pimply teenage ones that I’ve witnessed on discussion boards in days of yore. In a social situation, I will tend to gravitate toward the group of sardonic, cynical types who often turn out to be atheist or agnostic. That probably (as in so many other instances) reflects poorly on my faith.
There’s probably something in Psalms or Proverbs about that, like “Walk ye not in the way of the wicked, nay, nor followest thou the scoffer, neither he who sayest of the LORD Almighty, ‘There is none in heaven who watches or judge, so let us doest whatsoever we wanteth.’ Yeah, verily, their way leadeth unto destruction and their path unto Sheol.”
