My Lord!

They keep dragging Him into political arguments.

And everybody (except YWT, Your Worm Truly) always leaves out the essential element that makes these arguments over socialism eternally stupid.

May I drop a subtle clue to the omission, by way of asking a simple question?

Are we talking VOLUNTARY or INVOLUNTARY socialism??

Voluntary socialism is angelic.  Involuntary socialism is…the opposite of angelic.

We Christians are commanded to be charitable…but never forced.

So what’s the political left’s position in regard to voluntary socialism, Mr. Progressive Bible Expert?

Further down…yes, of course Ananias and Saphira must appear in this screed.

Dear readers, does this not sound like a form of terror-enforced-communism imposed by a God who thinks that Christians who fail to join the collective are worthy of death?

Er…no?  Assuming one has two brain cells to rub together and isn’t trying to deceive others.   What the heck is this writer’s agenda?

Oh.  If you’re going to whine about atheists being misrepresented, Mr. Paul, maybe you should quit misrepresenting the Bible, then.

Peter to Ananias, after the theft came out:

Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

Hmm.  Mr. Paul says the Bible teaches “terror-enforced-communism”, yet the Bible claims Ananias was free to do anything he wished with the money.

…thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

A leftist can be SLAPPED IN THE EAR with the message “a lie is an abomination unto the Lord” and yet what he hears is…”Thou Shalt Be Communist!”

Fascinating.

I’m no Christian and even I know Jesus was no socialist. This is getting ridiculous. The “progressives” aren’t just not progressive, they’re also retards. If Jesus would have said that yellow is yellow, they would claim that he said that yellow was blue.

Going to comment on the atheist part as well. Yep, I’m an atheist. I believe what I want. Other people belive what they want. As long as we leave each other in peace everything is fine.

Now, I admit, yes I’m fed up as well. Does it have anything to do with me being an atheist?

    NO.

I’m fed up about being taxed into the ground by SOCIALISTS.

I left most of my Bible faith behind decades ago, after spending my 20’s neck deep in studies and teaching. I still hold the Bible has some great things to learn from.

FREE WILL (not free Willy) is at the heart, which you point out as voluntary versus involuntary. But our socialist/communist fiends need to get their movement into the church, and “social justice” (also mentioned int he article) seems to be their pathway. Apparently separation of church and state is no longer important to them, if they can co-opt the church to push socialism.

I don’t know that this “all things common” church was common back then. But this article absurdly claims this indicates government should redistribute our wealth, in direct contradiction the actual words “was it not your own”, as you state. But he also says the was no “capitalism”. Yet even Jesus taught to not bury your “talents”. and there are many other examples, like was it Joseph, storing/selling food in Egypt to acquire power during the famine?

The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

There are more stupid things in the article, but basically it seems to me, there is a big effort to push socialist/communist teachings into the church, like they’ve already done in the public schools and in much of media. Beck has exposed a lot on the “social justice” movement which is well under way in the churches.

So on the one hand that writer wants the government to become the church, in essence, apparently claiming God killed people for not giving Him everything, and that government should therefor take on the role of forceful redistribution. But then he claims that the most safe and successful countries are the most secular, liberal democracies. (though his link “proving that” just links back to his own article)

I suppose he means to compare Denmark and Sweden to the US, but of course the demographics are completely different, and fails to note those countries are under the umbrella of NATO protection, allowing them to remain rather isolated and unconquered. I’d agree a socialist society CAN work, especially with a more educated and like minded population. But even that puts limits on freedom, and I think is less vibrant.
