World's Only Rational Man 
Waiting for a Dem to say that old people are a burden for their families and society. They’ve already said that about children. Remember Obama and how he ranted that he doesn’t want his daugthers “punished with a baby”? Nice! Very nice. And he’s still somewhat moderate compared to the more rabid examples of that species.
Doubt they’ll say it like that, what with all the Baby Boomer voters turning gray. They’ll push “quality of life” counselling and try to guilt folks into riddance.
The “counseling” and guilt-tripping already happens. Unfortunately, some people think doctors always “know best”.
In our state, a lawyer recently said that Medicaid had given itself the right to deny even life-saving care as a “cost containment measure”. So the title is disturbingly accurate…
The other disturbing thing I know is that our state uses HMO’s (Health Maintenance Organizations) and MCO’s (Managed Care Organizations) and I know of a few “‘Service Coordinators” who have openly told new clients that the companies are insurance companies and they expect to make a profit. So why exactly is the Federal government giving money to the states in order for the states to pay companies to make a profit while denying life-saving care?
That’s the best question I’ve heard in a long time.
It is not for the benefit of the recipients, more for the benefit of the fine upstanding representatives, who look forward to the fine party donations, and the lavish ” gifts” that they will get from those suppliers.
