  1. Educate readers? Who wouldn’t know “spoon?” Who here couldn’t debate which is funnier: the chameleon trying to blend into plaid, or the carpet man always getting overheated in his costume . . .

    The Tick was genius.

You also have the live-action version, with Patrick Warburton, I hope? You probably do, but a few fans of the Big Blue Bug never found out about that short-lived Fox series.

I can’t take the chance that you’re one of them.

      • Warburton was a perfect choice, the real flesh and blood embodiment of The Tick, was he not? I remember being real skeptical, but the live show worked.

I don’t have any of this in a DVD collection or anything. Just my fond memories. Come to think of it, I probably saw only an episode or two of the live action version. You recommend the whole series, then?

Oh yes. The “Destroyo” episode has to be the best, but the last one, never aired, was also great.

I think you can see some of the full episodes on You Tube, though they may be broken into parts.

They didn’t have “American Maid” and “Der Fleedermouse” for some copyright reasons, but “Captain Liberty” and “Bat Manuel” were very good. I got some funny looks when watching The Dark Knight in theaters and first seeing the mayor of Gotham. Chris Nolan cast Bat Manuel! That was a LOL.
