He says, “FEMA might be using too-conservative estimates of the problem”, but I’ve seen other beliefs that the concern is underestimated. And he’s been digging into it and posting interesting bits in this thread.

There’s also the communications networks to consider, even if a region’s power isn’t lost. Seriously, if you’re not stocked for lengthy “on your own” situations, it’s a very good idea. Inflation seems unavoidable. Bad inflation seems unavoidable.

Meaning no time’s better than now for stocking up on supplies with long shelf-lives.  Unless you have a time machine.
