New report.

I swear, you guys  better be spread out to Pacific Time, ’cause you’re killing this East Coast blogger!  It’s 3:30 A.M. local time.  I hope my boss allows a spontaneous vacation day tomorrow today.  I’ll be asking for one. In about three hours.

Unimportant.  The Lord provides.  And…

…Sam E. brought fresh information!  Which we’re starved for.  And for once things seem less bad that expected.  Here’s the NYT report. It’s worthy of the Times’ once-peerless reputation. Emotionally intense, rightfully so…there are heros crawling in darkness…

Pray for them.  I do.  But forgive me…

…I’m looking at numbers.

Japan’s Health Ministry said Tuesday it was raising the legal limit on the amount of radiation to which each worker could be exposed, to 250 millisieverts from 100 millisieverts, five times the maximum exposure permitted for American nuclear plant workers.

Holy crap, that’s great bureaucratic blather.  Stripping through the blather, what’s the American rad limit?  One fifth of 250 Sv, or one of 50Sv?l

Yes.  One is maximum, the lesser is administrative.

Welcome to hell.  Bureaucratic hell.

But it’s a step up from radiological hell!

      Thank you cschweitzer,

Hadn’t seen that one yet. I’m guessing we’re at the mercy of the global clock before we know what tomorrow’s Japan will bring.
