Most economists were in agreement about the wisdom of the bailouts. My diagnosis was: amputation or gangrene…choose. Wisely.
Economists advised gangrene. Actually, the treatment was to prop up the diseased limbs by sacrificing resources from healthier areas.
I’m not implying the W.O.R.M. is smarter and wiser than all economists combined. Not when I can come right out and say it. Neener neener.
Here’s a rare example of a trained but thinking economist. She seems a lovely person, but is easily hoodwinked by appeals to authority.
