…of constant rumors of an Ender’s Game movie, I quit paying attention years ago. Because apparently I’m a genius! And now that non-watched pot is scheduled to boil on Nov. 1st, 2013.

Meta
I read Orson Scott Card’s blog-like thing (it is actually a weekly local newspaper column that also goes up on his website) and he has been pretty enthusiastic about the movie. Harrison Ford is in the movie, I think he’s Graff…is that perfect or what? Card was very impressed with how they did the battleroom scenes — they used harnesses and did it mostly live action with natural motion. He has also been very positive about the script (which was kept in the loop on) and the changes necessary to transition from a book to a movie.
So yeah, it’s been filmed at least in part, has a release date, and has strong support from the author. Signs point to it being good if not awesome, and that it’s definitely happening. Hopefully it’ll be successful enough to get the shadow series up on the screen too.
It’s giving me the same vibe. Almost certainly won’t be bad, will probably be pretty good, might even be much better. Next on my list: Nine Princes in Amber.
