Rachel Carson never meant to kill anyone, of course.  Probably.  And it’s not like many of the malaria victims were (are) white, media-rich Westerners.  So break out the candles and presents!

    From a medical professional point of view I take the elevated leukemia risk from pesticides of all the “nice” things bugs can spread any day. For example: 7 or 11% leukemia risk over effectively 100% malaria risk? The decision is clear in such a case.

    Also, am I the only one who thinks “manslaughter” sounds much worse than “murder”? Like some insane butcher carving up people in his basement and then selling them as sausages and steak.
