Iceland’s Constitution…

is on the way. Apparently they’ve been using Denmark’s, with a few tweaks, since their independence in 1944.

But electing people to write it? Whew. This’ll be interesting.

Given modern communication, computing, and Iceland’s tiny ~320,000 population, couldn’t they use the open source approach to writing a foundational document? A lot of filtering would be required, sure, but wikipedia manages. Keep your constitution simple, and amendable by some agreed-upon supermajority.

I've accepted that all of you are socially superior to me. But no pretending that any of you are rational.
